Home/Guest list template
A guest list template built for seating
Most guest list templates are built for addressing envelopes. This one is built for the seating chart: one guest per row, households linked, meals and allergies captured — and it imports into Tablewright exactly as it is.

CSV opens in Excel, Google Sheets (File → Import) and Numbers. Includes example rows you can overwrite.
The columns, and why they matter
| Column | What to put | Why |
|---|---|---|
| First name, Last name | One person per row | Every guest needs their own seat, card and meal |
| Household | The same label for people who arrive together (“Almeida family”) | Households are always seated together |
| Group | Family, University friends, Work… | You seat by group; auto-seat fills tables group by group |
| Side | Partner A, Partner B, Both | Balancing the room and ceremony sides |
| RSVP | Yes / No / Pending | Declined guests drop out of seating automatically |
| Meal | The menu choice | Caterers want counts per table |
| Dietary & access | Allergies, intolerances, wheelchair access | Appears seat by seat on the caterer sheet |
| Child | Yes / No (or an Age column) | Children’s meals, high chairs, kids’ tables |
| Plus-one allowed | Yes / No | Adds a “Guest of …” seat until you know the name |
| Table | Leave blank, or a table number/name if you already know | Imported assignments are kept |
| Notes | Anything private | Never printed |
Already have a list?
You don’t need to retype it into this template. Tablewright reads whatever columns you have — “Name”, “Guest”, “Entrée”, “Allergies”, “Household” and their German, French and Spanish equivalents — and splits rows like “John & Jane Smith” or “Sam Lee +1” into separate, linked guests.
Tips for a tidy list
- Keep one master list. Copies drift apart and names get misspelled.
- Record meals and allergies on the RSVP form so they arrive in the same place.
- Fill in households as you go — it is the single biggest time-saver when seating.
- Don’t store more personal data than you need; addresses belong in a separate list for invitations.
